Non-formal Child Development Associates offered in Wabash Co.

NEW NEWS - Purdue Extension will be again offering the non-formal Child Development Associates 4 classes (30 hours each) in Wabash County for Wabash, Grant, and adjacent counties, Huntington or Miami, starting orientation late fall if possible, depending on response for enrollment. The TEACH scholarships will apply towards the costs. Please share this information with childcare providers, or others in the early childhood field of employment. I will be the Educator along with Purdue Human Development/ Early Childhood specialists on campus.

The exact day of the week, and location(s) in Wabash County have not been finalized, but the classes will be in the evening and some Saturdays. All interested candidates, please contact the office numbers or my email below ASAP to get their name on the list. More information will be forthcoming, but I wanted to alert you of this great offer as soon as I learned that Purdue Extension in this area was awarded the grant to teach the non-formal CDA classes.

Across our state, more importance has been placed on early childhood education for pre-school teachers and childcare providers and we are pleased to offer you this opportunity.

Childcare Solutions Calendar

CDC Guidance on Helping Child Care and Early Childhood Programs Respond to Influenza during the 2009-2010 Influenza Season Fri, 04 Sep 2009 09:00:00 -0500
Children less than 5 years of age are at increased risk of complications from influenza (flu); the risk is greater among children less than 2 years old. Importantly, infants less than 6 months of age represent a particularly vulnerable group because they are too young to receive the seasonal or 2009 H1N1 influenza vaccine; as a result, individuals responsible for caring for these children constitute a high-priority group for early vaccination.
